Tanker In/Out Counting

Counts tankers in and out of a site from its existing CCTV, on an ordinary PC with no graphics card, with a live dashboard and a snapshot of every count.

The challenge

A site needed to know how many tankers came in, went out and were still inside, shift by shift, without gate staff keeping tallies.

What we did

  1. 01YOLO detection with ByteTrack tracking, tested on the site footage and run on the CPU with OpenVINO.
  2. 02A detection area, counting line and IN direction, set by clicking on the live picture.
  3. 03Unit-tested counting logic, built to avoid double counts.
  4. 04An offline Windows installer that runs as a background service and restarts by itself.
